Welcome to Southmoor Pre-School. We are a friendly, caring pre-school located in the parish of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor. We provide children with a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which they can learn, primarily through play. We encourage children to have fun and be happy. We recognise that parents are the main educators of their children and we aim to work in partnership with parents to enhance children’s development and learning.

We aim to ensure that each child:

·         Is in a safe and stimulating environment.

·         Is given generous care and attention, because of our ratio of staff to children, as well as volunteer parent helpers.

·         Has the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together.

·         Is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can  do.

·         Has a personal key person who makes sure each child makes satisfying progress.

·         Is in a pre-school that sees parents as partners in helping each child to learn and develop.

·         Is in a pre-school in which parents help to shape the service it offers.

Our pre-school is open during term time for 38 weeks of the year. We are open four mornings a week, (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) between 9am – 1pm.

Children are admitted to pre-school once they have reached the age of approximately 2 years and 4 months. The majority of our children go on to attend John Blandy VC Primary School, situated in the village, with which we hold strong links.

A copy of our latest OFSTED inspection is available online and in pre-School.

“Staff are kind and caring; they notice what interests the children and they talk to them about their play. Staff are quick to support children when necessary.” OFSTED Inspection July 2008.
